A few good vegetables to include are frozen peas, carrots, chopped corn and bell peppers that are diced, or mushrooms. If you’re looking to bulk up the proteincontent, you can include diced Spam or shrimp, ham or chicken.
If you’d like to make this dish in a low-carb alternative then you can substitute the rice with long-grain cauliflower.
Cold, fresh cooked rice is ideal for frying rice. If you are using freshly cooked rice, place it on a baking sheet and chill for 20 to 30 minutes before letting it completely cool.
Cook at high heat to stop it from sticking on the cooking surface and gives it a toasty taste.
Sprinkle soy sauce sparingly because excessive liquid or moisture could make the rice to be mushy. Adjust the taste by adding salt as necessary.
Use 1 teaspoon of sesame oils in the final minutes of cooking to increase the aroma and flavor.
